Earlier this year, Coopers Ferry Partnership (CFP), together with the Rutgers Voorhees Transportation Center (VTC), and Ofo launched a bike share feasibility and demonstration program for the City of Camden called Camden Bike Share.
In order to both raise awareness for Camden Bike Share and educate the residents of Camden on how to use the Ofo dockless bike system, the team at Rutgers VTC deployed an extensive public engagement and outreach program throughout the city.
On May 1st, the team deployed over 100 bicycles accessible to all. The Ofo bike share model was a dockless system of bright yellow bikes that could be borrowed as needed using a mobile phone application, for $1 for up to hour. The pilot demonstration has now concluded.
For the remainder of the summer, the team will continue to engage in outreach with Camden residents and stakeholders in order to determine if and how a bike share system can provide a valuable transportation tool to the city. Stay tuned for opportunities to provide your feedback!
